Root canal treatment is nothing but the removal of the infected soft tissue within the tooth and its replacement by an artificial inert material. This procedure saves the tooth and eliminates dental pain. The root canal may be indicated for any of the following reasons:

Swelling of the gums near the tooth
Persistent toothache
Fracture of teeth
